Is this a for-profit, charity, or free zine?
Zine and merch costs will be calculated to be for nonprofit, but if expected sales are exceeded, extra profit will go to a charity supporting LGBTQ+ youth.
Will the zine be physical or digital?
The zine will be offered in both a physical and digital format. Merch will also be offered.
How many contributors are you looking for?
We are seeking approximately 25 contributors, including page artists, writers, cosplayers, and merch artists. Additionally, we are looking for a small team of beta readers.
What types of content will be in the zine? Will AU content be allowed?
The zine will be focused on the events and people in the AWTDE videos. There is a lot of freedom in how these are depicted. AU content will not be accepted. All content should be SFW and any gore will be limited to light blood. Comics are allowed so long as they do not take up more than 4 pages.
What will you be looking for in each contributor?
You can find the expectations for contributors on the specs page.
Will collaborations between contributors be allowed?
Yes, collaborations are allowed and encouraged! Please just be sure to run it by the mod team first. Note that collaborative pieces will not count toward the minimum one page requirement for page artists.
Will this zine accept traditional art?
Yes! traditional art will be accepted, given that the artist can provide a high quality, clear scan of their artwork.
How will the zine communicate?
Communications will mainly be through tumblr, though major updates will also be communicated through other socials.
Can contributors post or sell their work later?
The project does not claim ownership of contributor-created works. Contributors are free to include their pieces in personal portfolios and may share their work publicly after fulfillment of zine orders has completed.
